Training Courses

We offer a range of 1, 2, 3 & 5 day training courses from £299.

1, 2 & 3 day Training Courses

My courses are designed for New Locksmiths or Apprentice Locksmiths that have already completed a locksmith course, and are new to the trade, and would like to learn more about night latch fitting and mortice lock fitting, and even learn some basic carpentry skills to enable you to make good doors and frames.

This course will show you how to ‘fresh fit’ a range of night latches from standard low security nights latches up to the more complex British Standard Night latches. You will also install a range of mortice locks from 3 lever deadlocks, 5 lever British Standard deadlocks, sash locks and Euro sash locks, by hand as well as teaching you how to use the Souber Mortice Lock Jig. You will also learn the basic carpentry skills required to be able to offer your customer the making good of doors and frames where required, carry out burglary repairs including reinforcing timber frames using a couple of techniques, saving your customer the hassle of finding 2 tradesmen and earning you more money in the process.

3 & 5 day 1-2-1 Shadowing Courses

You can also choose either a 3 or 5 day 1-2-1 shadowing course.

This is again designed for New Locksmiths that have previously attended a locksmith course that would like to learn a bit more about working out in the field and in the training room. We will take on live jobs during your 3 or 5 days so you get an idea of dealing with customers, taking payments, overcoming problems, pricing jobs etc.

When we are not on a live job we will be in the training room doing some lock fitting, lock picking, bumping, making good or what ever else you would like to know more about regarding our industry.

About our courses.

The courses have been designed to show you all of the skills, tips and tricks that I have learnt over the years that will hopefully benefit you in your Locksmith or carpentry career.

You will learn the traditional way to fit locks using a hammer, chisels and a cordless drill, but I will also be showing you how to fresh fit a mortice lock using the Souber Mortice Jig. The Souber Jig is a fantastic tool that gives you a very neat finish upon completion and will eventually speed up the process of fresh fitting mortice locks, meaning you can move on quicker to your next job.

I will also be teaching you the basic carpentry skills required to enable you to offer your customer making good of doors or frames after they have been damaged due to forceful entry.

Again, this prevents the customer requiring 2 tradesmen meaning you can do the whole job and again earn more money for yourself.

These are all 100% practical courses whichever one you choose, and all the tools required to carry out the training will be supplied to you for the duration of your chosen course, however, if you wish to bring your own tools you are more than welcome.

The prices of our courses are competitively priced so that you are potentially able to earn your money back after just a couple of jobs.

The course is being held in Hove, BN3. We are 0.4 miles away from Hove Train Station which is a 20 minute walk, or a 5 minute Uber ride.
